Driving the Future
Centurion’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Project isn’t just about new trucks, it’s about the people driving them.
We’ve hired and trained a dedicated team of EV drivers, giving them the tools and support to handle this new technology with confidence. Their feedback has been crucial in shaping how we roll out the fleet, from how the trucks perform on the road to how charging fits into daily operations. By listening to our drivers, we’ve ensured the technology works in practice, not just in theory.

By introducing a fully electric fleet powered by renewable energy, we’re working toward:
- Lowering emissions across our metro operations
- Reducing reliance on fossil fuels through solar and battery storage
- Creating a scalable model for sustainable freight
Electric Vehicle Deployment at a Glance
We’ve successfully commissioned Australia’s first fully off-grid, 100% renewable BEV project at our Hazelmere depot in Perth. As of July 2025, 30 Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 trucks, 25 rigids and 5 prime movers, are now on the road servicing the Perth metro area.
This milestone is backed by 100% renewable energy generated and stored on-site, making this the first project of its kind in Australia.
Our Electric Fleet – eActros 300
- 25 rigids
- 5 prime movers
- Zero tailpipe emissions
- Operating across metro Perth
- Up to 400 kW peak power
These vehicles help us reduce our environmental footprint without compromising service or reliability.

Off-Grid Charging Powered by the Sun
Our Hazelmere depot now runs on:
- Fully off-grid infrastructure
- 4.4MW rooftop solar (8,540 panels)
- 10.3MWh battery storage
- 15 dual-port chargers
