Justin Cardaci – Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Justin’s role spans all areas of the Centurion business. His focus is to actively seek and grow opportunities whilst continuing to strengthen the organisation’s commercial performance.
Justin started his career at Centurion as the Operations and Linehaul Manager before looking outside the organisation to further his industry experience.
In 2007 Justin was appointed Managing Director for Guardian Marine where his responsibilities included providing port services to the largest tonnage port in Australia in addition to facilitating off-shore express services.
In 2009 Justin was appointed as the CEO of the Go Marine Group, Australia’s largest integrated marine oil and gas logistics provider, as part of a merger with Guardian Marine. This extended Justin’s project logistics knowledge for specialised services and offered exposure to national and South-East Asian markets.
Andrew Ford – Chief Operating Officer
Andrew started his career in the transport and logistics industry as a graduate cadet for Bell Group, working with Bell Freightlines where he gained extensive state wide exposure in general, refrigerated and specialised transport.
In 1993 Andrew was appointed as the Sales Manager of Gascoyne Trading, later to become Wesfarmers Transport incorporating Total Western Transport, Niteroad Express and Gascoyne Trading. In 2002 he joined Centurion as the National Business Development Manager before taking on the role of General Manager – Business Development & Strategy. He has played a central part in growing the business to where it is today.
Andrew’s experience includes contract management with major resource energy and retail clients including BHP Iron Ore, Argyle Diamonds, Woodside, Robe River Iron Associates, Coles Myer, Woolworths and over 9000 active trading accounts.
Paul Doherty – Head of People & Culture
As the Head of People & Culture, Paul is responsible for providing strategic leadership and driving cultural change through targeted people performance.
Providing leadership to the Human Resources and Indigenous Affairs teams, his focus is on culture and performance, employee capability, talent development and succession planning, employee relations and industrial relations.
Paul is an experienced HR Executive with more than 15 years’ experience in senior human resources roles across various industries from Transport to Fuel Distribution and Civil Construction. He brings a wealth of experience and a demonstrated ability to build leadership capability and culture driven strategies that enhance staff engagement and retention.
Grant Gardner – Chief Financial Officer
Grant is responsible for the overall financial performance of Centurion as well as its HR and data management functions. He was previously CFO of the CFC Group where he developed and implemented the corporate, financial and investment strategies to ensure the creation of sustainable shareholder value.
Grant is an experienced senior executive who has held a range of strategic, operational and management roles across several industries – including professional services, banking, chemical and mining. He has worked for a number of local and multinational organisations and has a strong grounding in all facets of business management.
In addition to extensive operations management and finance experience, Grant has designed, advised on and executed multiple Organisational Change Programs, System Implementations, Private Equity Investments, M&A Transactions and Capital Raisings.
Grant holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (University of Natal), a Master’s in Business Administration (University of Pretoria (GIBS)), is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Aldo Kiamtia – Chief Information Officer
As Chief Information Officer, Aldo’s role is to promote visibility, ensuring process consistency and embracing technology across the Centurion business. His focus is to ensure that Centurion continuously improves its business processes, making strategic decisions through information systems and remaining at the forefront of the digital and data transformation revolution in logistics.
Aldo started his career as a communications engineer which quickly led to management of tenders and projects in the resources industry.
In 1994, Aldo founded Matrix (Westel Wireless), a startup in Perth which led to wireless systems developments with US based AT&T and Lucent Technologies and then in 2000, Bloodhound Software, a data mining company.
In 2006, Aldo Kiamtia started Commsig, an engineering consultancy which serviced the resources industry and in 2015 joined the CFC group to manage its in-house application development business.
Gary Nurick – Executive General Manager Operations West
Gary joined Centurion in June 2015 as the Divisional Manager Specialised Transport and Regional Networks. He was promoted to General Manager Transport Operations before becoming General Manager Operations West with accountability across the business’ entire west coast operations in 2017.
He is passionate about making a measurable difference to safety, customer service and operational efficiency and has a track record in delivering these outcomes.
Gary held a number of senior FMCG roles in South Africa before immigrating to Australia in 2008. Since then he has focused his career on logistics and has managed large mining logistics contracts. Gary is a Chartered Accountant and in 2014 completed a General Management Program at Harvard.
Garry Riordan – Executive General Manager Operations East
Garry has more than 25 years’ experience and demonstrated success in leading large scale operations across Australia in a wide range of transport services, storage,distribution and mining services.
Garry has extensive experience in Operations Management, Maintenance Management, Contract Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management and Business Development.
As the General Manager of Operations East, Garry will be integral in implementing the Centurion “ways of working” on the East Coast whilst expanding the service offering in line with the company’s strategic direction. The heavy haulage business gives another significant service offering that will compliment this strategic direction.
Anthony Whelan – Executive General Manager Corporate Risk & Asset Management
Anthony’s role is a strategic position with a strong emphasis on achieving greater efficiency and sustainability for the Centurion business. His responsibilities include developing repeatable, consistent and robust frameworks, processes and systems around delivery of risk governance, safety, asset management and procurement while also overseeing the marketing portfolio.
Anthony previously worked as Executive General Manager – Corporate Risk & Asset Management for the CFC Group as well as Executive General Manager for another CFC Group operating entity and as CFO for the Group. He has broad financial and operating management experience including policy and procedures development, strategy development, risk mitigation, contract and acquisition negotiation across a range of industries including Equipment Sales and Service, Transport & Logistics, Mining Sales and Service, Waste and Recycling and Oil and Gas. He also worked as an auditor for Coopers & Lybrand now Pricewaterhouse Coopers (NZ).
Anthony has a Bachelor of Business Studies (Major – Finance and Accounting) and also a Diploma in Corporate Management (Dip. CM – Australia). He is a member of the Institute of Accountants in Australia and New Zealand (CA) and Governance Institute of Australia – Chartered Secretary (FCIS/FGIA).
Max Bergomi – Head of Strategy and Development
Max began his professional career as an engineer with Italian EPC contractor Saipem. He has over twenty years of engineering, construction, and maintenance experience, and has built a strong reputation for onshore & topside service excellence over the last decade.
From late 2015 to 2018 Max was the Managing Director/CEO of Tempo, a mining and oil & gas service company. Prior to this, was the Managing Director for Clough for the Australian and PNG regions. He brings significant leadership experience and established working relationships with many blue chip clients and tier one contractors.
As Head of Strategy and Development, Max leads business development, tendering, commercial and marketing functions for the wider Centurion business in addition to in his role as CEO for the newly-established Centurion Upstream Solutions business.
