Centurion has been awarded a five year freight contract with BHP Billiton Nickel West supplying Nickel West sites through Centurion’s Perth Airport and Kalgoorlie distribution centres.
Centurion’s Executive General Manager Justin Cardaci said the company looked forward to providing Nickel West with service that is tailored to their business needs.
“Part of our strategy had been to focus on growing our business organically in WA as we have the most extensive logistics network in the State.”
According to Mr Cardaci the freight contract opens up more opportunities for Centurion in the Goldfields and the company is well set to leverage this to grow the business in the region.
“We already have existing clients in the area and this new contract will help us grow the local business by putting on additional services to and from Perth,” he said.
Centurion has a long history servicing the regional areas in the State and has played a significant part in many of the major projects in Western Australia.
“We believe the current climate provides us with opportunities to develop our business given this experience and the in depth understanding we have of the local industry and the current market conditions,” Mr Cardaci said.
Centurion has operated in the Kalgoorlie region since the 1990s and Mr Cardaci said the new freight contract would further underpin continued and ongoing support for the local community.
